Graduations are a special time of celebration; family and friends gather to congratulate students’ hard work and transition into adulthood, and graduates celebrate their accomplishments and plans for the future. For Anna*, she couldn’t imagine sharing such a special moment with anyone other than Chelsea Timpe!
Chelsea, a BSM for Adams & Martin Group in Costa Mesa, California, is Anna’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). CASA of Orange County is a non-profit organization that enables volunteers to mentor and advocate severely abused, neglected, or abandoned children in foster care. Basically, Chelsea watches out for and protects the rights of Anna… she’s a friend, an open ear, a big sister, and one of the only constant elements in Anna’s life.
Since then, Chelsea has spent time with Anna doing fun things like shopping for her prom dress and bonding over movies, as well as celebrating significant events such as Anna’s graduation from high school. In fact, Chelsea was the only “family member” at Anna’s graduation ceremony – a sign of the bond Chelsea has cultivated with someone who used to have no one to turn to.
Thanks in part to Chelsea’s guidance and friendship, Anna is excitedly heading to college in the fall with a partial scholarship. Chelsea is excited to use the $1,000 Roth Heroes cash prize to buy Anna a laptop and school supplies!
