On Sunday, September 28th, the remarkable team from Ultimate Staffing of Portland, Oregon, proudly supported the “Portland Metro Walk – Walk to Defeat ALS®.” Joined by friends and family for this important cause, the team took to the streets of downtown Portland to raise awareness and much-needed funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, known more commonly as Lou Gehrig’s Disease or (ALS). A neurodegenerative disease, ALS affects brain nerve cells and the spinal cord, causing those who suffer the ability to lose control of overall muscle movement, leading to paralysis and death. There is currently no cure.
In addition to funds raised by regional walks, ALS has enjoyed a much-needed exposure boost, thanks to their viral “Ice Bucket Challenge” videos, that took the world by storm this past Summer.
