Roth Staffing Companies named coworker Chelsea Timpe a Roth Hero of the Week as part of the company’s Roth Heroes program that recognizes customers, coworkers, and Ambassadors (temporary employees who represent Roth Staffing Companies) who make a difference in their communities. From April until August 15th, Roth Staffing’s 20th anniversary, the company is presenting every Roth Hero with a $1,000 cash prize.
Chelsea, a coworker in the Costa Mesa, CA branch office, earned recognition as a Roth Hero for her volunteer work with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County. The non-profit organization enables volunteers to mentor and advocate severely abused, neglected, or abandoned children in foster care.
Chelsea watches out for and protects the rights of Anna, a young girl that has been shuffled through the foster care system. She acts as a big sister, mentor, and friend, and is one of the only constant elements in the girl’s life. Nearly two years ago, Chelsea made a commitment to fulfill that role until the state was no longer responsible for Anna’s care—a long-term commitment that could last until after the young girl’s 20th birthday.
Since then, Chelsea has spent time with Anna doing everything from shopping for her prom dress to bonding over movies, as well as celebrating significant events such as Anna’s graduation from high school. In fact, Chelsea was the only “family member” at Anna’s graduation ceremony—a sign of the bond Chelsea has cultivated with someone who used to have no one to turn to.
“Volunteering with CASA of Orange County has been an extremely rewarding experience,” says Chelsea Timpe. “I’ve met a wonderful young girl that I’ve had the honor to watch grow into a young woman, and we’re both excited to see what her future holds. Anna has already said that she wants to start her own non-profit to help foster children. I have no doubt that one day, she’ll be volunteering her time and giving back to kids in need just like I am!”
Thanks in part to Chelsea’s guidance and friendship, Anna is excitedly heading to college in the fall with a partial scholarship. Chelsea plans to use the $1,000 Roth Heroes cash prize to buy Anna a laptop and school supplies, once again demonstrating the selflessness that Roth Staffing Companies is honored to highlight through the Roth Heroes program.
