College Grads Earn Higher Starting Salaries

The starting salaries for the college Class of 2011 increased by 2.3%, according to a new report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Bachelor’s degree graduates earned an average salary of $41, 701 from their first post-graduation job.

While graduates in the engineering and computer sciences disciplines had the largest overall increase, all disciplines saw at least a 1% increase. The average starting salary for engineering graduates is $61,872 and $60,594 for Computer Science majors.
