Roth Staffing Companies is ranked by Fortune as one of the 2016 Best Workplaces for Women, according to global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work®. Roth, one of the largest privately held staffing companies in the country, ranks on the list for the second consecutive year, and receives its sixth workplace recognition from Fortune in the past 12 months.
Roth, and its specialized business lines and affiliates (Ultimate Staffing, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, Ledgent Technology, Adams & Martin Group, About Talent, and Ultimate Locum Tenens), ranked #40 on this year’s list. The list is determined entirely by feedback from more than 137,762 women at Great Place to Work–Certified companies, a best of the best evaluation. The ranking is based on employee assessments of communication with management, options for development and training, and support for work/life balance, among other factors.
“We seek to make each and every individual feel cared for and valued,” said Pam Sexauer, Executive Vice President of Roth Staffing Companies. “We listen carefully to the feedback from our coworkers – this is their organization and you can genuinely feel the overwhelming sense of pride each coworker has in working here. It is a true honor to learn that all our coworkers, not just women, feel empowered and respected at Roth – it is a privilege to be recognized by Fortune in this way.”
The ranking also examines how well-represented women are within the general workforce and management and executive positions. At Roth Staffing Companies, executive leadership consists of 72% women, a near perfect representation of the entirety of the organization: 70% female, 30% male.
Those who were ranked among the top 100 reported that men and women experienced a more consistent and inclusive environment for both genders. Both women and men at Best Workplaces for Women feel their employers provide ample opportunities to grow and advance in their careers, and provide them with the flexibility they want to balance their work and personal lives.
“There’s a strong correlation between being able to talk openly with company executives and feeling like a workplace is fair,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work®. “Traditionally, communication channels with leaders have been less available to women than to men. The Best Workplaces for Women do well at paving the way for those open dialogs, and as a result, women are more likely to feel they get fair consideration in their jobs and careers. Congratulations to these great companies—they are showing everyone how to create a Great Place to Work for ALL.”
Over the past year, Roth has been recognized several times by Fortune and Great Place to Work including Best Workplace for Recent Grads, Consulting and Professional Services, and Giving Back, in addition to ranking as an overall 50 Best Small and Medium Workplace in the U.S.
Roth is committed to building an effective and engaging workplace. The organization was recently named one of Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ in North America. About the Best Workplaces for Women
Published together with our partner Fortune, the 100 Best Workplaces for Women rankings are based entirely upon feedback from more than 137,762 women at Great Place to Work–Certified companies. Women completed our anonymous Trust Index© survey, answering questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace, including, for example, their assessment of how fairly they’re treated regardless of gender, the quality and authenticity of communications with managers, and equitable pay and promotion practices. Women’s anonymous responses resulted in a total score for each company, which was compared to the benchmark for organizations of that size, and ranked accordingly.
Results from the survey are highly reliable, having a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of 6% or less. Winning a spot on this list indicates the company has distinguished itself from peers by being a great place to work for women, and has a workplace where women have high representation in the total employee population and in management positions. The 100 companies with the highest employee ratings and female representation were selected for the list.
