Average Tech Pay Tops $100,000 in Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley technology workers experienced an increase in average annual salaries in 2011. According to a salary survey by Dice Holdings Inc., the average annual salary totaled $104,195, an increase of 5.2% from a similar survey in 2010.

Nationwide, technology workers reported an average increase of $81,327 in 2011, up only 2% from 2010. Average bonuses also rose 8% from the previous year.

Dice notes that most of the wage increases were for highly skilled professionals with 11 or more years of experience.

The Dice salary survey was administered online and included responses from more than 18,300 employed technology professionals.
