Our #RothLife series features Coworkers in various roles across the country, giving a glimpse of who we are as a company, and what it looks like to be a champion of Roth’s culture.
Meet Jessica, one of our incredible Market Managers based in Austin, TX. After hearing about her day-to-day routine, we’re still scratching our heads figuring out how she does it all!
Q: What do you do at Roth?
Market Manager in Austin, TX! We’re bringing the AMAZING ROTH Staffing culture and customer service to Central Texas!
Q: What do your friends and family think you do?
My husband thinks we all sit around and eat bonbons all day, my kids think I’m the boss and my grandmother thinks I’m saving lives.
Q: What does a typical day look like for you?
Up at 4:45am, all 3 kids off to school, husband off to work, 1 hour+ commute (my coveted relaxing
time), Create Remarkable Experiences!!, commute home, kids sports caravan, dinner-bath-bed for kids,
finish up some work and get a good night’s sleep!
Q: What is something your Coworkers might not know about you?
I’m ¼ American Indian.
Q: Before working at Roth, what was the most interesting job you’ve ever had?
I started working at a grocery store when I was 14 years old. It was my first professional interview – I remember it to this day. I learned a lot about how being reliable, responsible and flexible can set you apart from the rest. I had to dress up like a Twinkie once and wave at customers coming into the store. I think there is a picture floating around out there somewhere….
Q: What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?
Do your best
Work with integrity
Q: What did you want to be when growing up?
I grew up on a farm in Iowa and I always wanted to be Veterinarian – until I worked at a vet for several years in high-school and college and realized there is a lot of poop and pee involved in that profession.
Q: What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
My family. My husband grounds me and I could snuggle my kids all day long.
Q: What’s one thing you can’t resist?
White cake with white frosting….yummy! And voguing in the car when Madonna’s Vogue comes on. (Voguing is a real word – I Googled it. J)
Q: What’s your most overused phrase?
“Who does that!?!” I’m continually amazed by people in all of their glory, good & bad.
Q: What do you most admire about your Coworkers?
They are a true team. They love each other and do what is right and best for everyone. I’ve never worked with a group of such giving people, both in the office and outside of the office. It’s AWESOME to work with good peeps!
Q: You’re happiest when?
I’m happiest at work after a client visit! I get super excited interacting with clients and potential clients – learning their business, getting an understanding of their business structures, helping them find solutions to their staffing needs. My team will tell you, if I’m in a rut or having a down day – take me on a client visit!
