Fraud Alert
We have seen an increase in fraudulent activity using the names of Roth Staffing Companies and our business lines (Ultimate Staffing Services, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, Ledgent Technology, Adams & Martin Group, and About Talent). Scammers are impersonating our recruiters through email, text messages, social media, and fake LinkedIn profiles / fake LinkedIn job posts to steal personal information or money. We will NEVER ask you to pay a fee, share financial information, or provide sensitive personal data through unsecured or unofficial channels.
What We Will Never Ask You To Do
Regardless of how you are contacted, Roth Staffing Companies and all of our business lines (Ultimate Staffing Services, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, Ledgent Technology, Adams & Martin Group and About Talent) will never ask job candidates to:
- Pay any fee to work with us, receive payment, or access a job opportunity
- Cash checks, purchase gift cards, or send money of any kind
- Provide credit card numbers, banking PINs, or other sensitive financial information
- Share your Social Security number or government ID through text, email, or messaging apps
- Send job applications or conduct interviews via WhatsApp or similar platforms
- Accept a job offer without ever speaking with a verified recruiter or completing an interview
- Download apps or click links from unsolicited messages to receive payment or commission
We only collect sensitive information — including government-issued identification — through our secure, password-protected platforms, and only after an offer of employment has been extended, as required by law (e.g., Form I-9 under the Immigration Reform and Control Act).
How Scammers May Try to Reach You
Fraud is no longer limited to fake job postings. Today’s scammers use a variety of channels and tactics. Here are the most common scenarios to watch for:
Unsolicited Text Messages or Messaging Apps
You receive a text or WhatsApp message from an unknown number claiming to be a Roth Staffing, Ultimate Staffing Services, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, Ledgent Technology, Adams & Martin Group, or About Talent recruiter. They offer you a job you never applied for and ask you to respond to continue.
Example of a fraudulent message: Hi! I’m a recruiter with Ultimate Staffing. We found your profile and have an exciting remote opportunity paying $28/hr. To get started, I’ll need your full name, address, and bank account details to set up direct deposit. Can you respond here on WhatsApp?
Fake Job Postings on Social Media
Job ads using our company names appearing on LinkedIn Posts, Facebook groups, Instagram, or other social platforms. The postings often promise unusually high pay, minimal requirements, and immediate hiring — and they’re not from us.
Fake LinkedIn Profiles
Scammers create fake LinkedIn profiles that closely mimic the names, photos, job titles, and company affiliations of real Roth Staffing Companies recruiters — or invent convincing fictional ones. They reach out via LinkedIn InMail or connection requests, presenting themselves as representatives of Roth Staffing, Ultimate Staffing Services, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, Ledgent Technology, Adams & Martin Group, or About Talent, and offer jobs, request personal information, or direct candidates to fraudulent websites.
Recruitment emails will only come from the domains:
- @UltimateStaffing.com
- @Ledgent.com
- @AdamsMartinGroup.com
- @RothStaffing.com
- @AboutTalent.com
For questions and to verify a LinkedIn Profile outreach, please email Contact@RothStaffing.com
Upfront Fees, LinkedIn Profile and Resume Optimization Services or Equipment Requests
A scammer posing as a recruiter tells you that you need to purchase a LinkedIn profile and/or resume optimization services, equipment, uniforms, or pay a screening/placement fee before starting work. They may offer to “reimburse” you and ask for your bank account number to do so.
Example of a fraudulent message: Congratulations! You’ve been selected for a remote data entry role. We’ll send you a check to purchase your home office equipment. Please deposit it and send $300 via Zelle to our vendor to complete your setup.
Spoofed Email Addresses or Fake Websites
You receive an email that appears to be from one of our brands but is sent from a Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, or similarly generic address — or from a domain that closely mimics ours (e.g., “rothstaffing-jobs.com”). Always verify that the email comes from one of our official domains, e.g., @rothstaffing.com, @ultimatestaffing.com, @ledgent.com, @adamsmartingroup.com, @abouttalent.com. Don’t trust the display name alone — hover over it to reveal the real email address behind it.
Red Flags to Watch For
Be cautious any time you see one or more of these warning signs:
- You never applied for the job, but received an offer out of nowhere
- The recruiter communicates only through personal email (Gmail, Hotmail) or messaging apps
- You’re offered a job without any interview or meaningful conversation
- The pay seems unusually high for the role described
- There is pressure to act quickly or “claim your spot” before the opportunity disappears
- There is pressure to purchase LinkedIn profile and/or resume optimization services
- The message contains poor grammar, typos, or unusual phrasing
- You’re asked to send money first to receive money
- The job involves liking social media posts, watching videos, or other engagement tasks in exchange for pay
- You receive a group text with the same offer sent to multiple people
- A LinkedIn profile claiming to represent one of our brands has few connections, a recently created account, no verifiable employment history or dates of employment, or cannot be found on our official company LinkedIn pages
How to Verify You’re Talking to Us
If you’re unsure whether communication is legitimate, here’s how to verify:
- Check the email domain. All official emails from our brands come from @rothstaffing.com, @ultimatestaffing.com, @ledgent.com, @adamsmartingroup.com, @abouttalent.com. A Gmail or Hotmail address is not us.
- Look us up directly. Go to https://www.rothstaffing.com/locations/or your relevant brand website and find a market location near you. Contact that market location directly to verify the recruiter and the opening.
- Search for the job independently. Look for the position on our official websites or trusted job boards. If it doesn’t exist there, it’s likely a scam.
- Verify the country of the job. Roth Staffing Companies brands (Ultimate Staffing Services, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, Ledgent Technology, Adams & Martin Group, and About Talent) operate only in the U.S. and do not place roles outside of the U.S.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off — the urgency, the request, the channel — it probably is. Reach out to us directly before proceeding.
What To Do If You Suspect Fraud
If you receive suspicious communication claiming to be from any Roth Staffing Companies brand (Ultimate Staffing Services, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, Ledgent Technology, Adams & Martin Group, and About Talent):
- Do not respond to the message or provide any personal information.
- Report it to us by emailing contact@rothstaffing.com. Please include any details you have about the communication.
- Forward suspicious texts to 7726 (SPAM) to alert your wireless provider.
- Report to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or by calling 1-877-382-4357.
- Contact your bank immediately if you shared financial information or transferred money.
- Report identity theft to identitytheft.gov if your personal data was compromised.
