Our #RothLife series features Coworkers in various roles across the country, giving a glimpse of who we are as a company, and what it looks like to be a champion of Roth’s culture.
Where do we even start? Not only does Diana manage all things Strategic when it comes to Marketing, but she also… finds and sends out the weekly #WhatsTrending articles (and records the weekly podcasts), leads Roth’s Readers 2 Leaders book club, organizes and plans monthly board game lunches at Corporate, whips out PowerPoint presentations like no one’s business, and keeps her team on their toes with her habit of breaking into (sometimes indiscernible) song… *WHEW!* Learn more about what led Diana to Roth, the biggest challenge she faces, and the one thing she just can’t live without.
Q: What do you do at Roth?
I’m the Strategic Marketing Specialist at Roth’s corporate office. I work closely with our sales and operations teams to develop customized content including RFPs, formal business reviews, sales and networking event presentations, and custom marketing materials. I also work on fun company-wide projects with other corporate teams, such as co-hosting an internal coworker podcast with Kameko Ogg from our Training department.
Q: What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me includes the three “C’s”: coffee, creativity, and collaborating. Every day is different—one moment I’m working on a RFP deadline, the next I’m researching market data for a customer. However, with a cup of joe, movie soundtracks playing in my headphones, and a great team by my side, I’m ready to tackle each new project.
Q: What is the best thing about your job?
My team. I’m a very proud member of Roth’s award-winning marketing department. We each bring a unique set of skills and strengths, and we motivate each other to do our very best every day.
Q: What do you find most challenging about your role?
Deadlines. They are my worst nightmare and greatest motivation.
Q: Before working at Roth, what was the most interesting job you’ve ever had?
Before joining Roth I worked as a writer/editor at a news radio station and for a U.S. Congressman. I learned a lot of valuable skills in these roles, but I’m really glad to work for a company that values a work-life balance.
Q: If you were to write a book, what would you name it?
Q: What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?
Be a good listener. Be patient. Be a team player.
Q: What did you want to be when growing up?
A marine biologist … but I quickly moved away from that when I learned that it involved swimming. I’m terrified of the water!
Q: What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
A notepad and pencil.
Q: What is one thing you can’t resist?
Q: You’re happiest when?
I have a quiet space to be creative. I love to write and paint. Whenever I get a moment for myself, I like to lock myself up and just let my mind wander and introduce me to something new.
