Motivating others to do their best is part of being a good leader in the workplace. You want to be able to encourage your team to move ahead and figure out solutions when they are stuck. While this is a tough skill to master, it’s incredibly important, as you are the person professionals look up to when they need to be inspired to work through challenges.

Additionally, you want to be able to recognize your employees’ hard work and acknowledge their strengths. Harnessing others’ potential and being a mentor is an important part of leading your team to success. 

7. Reliability 

Being a reliable leader means that you are someone people can depend on and come to in challenging times. Respecting others’ time and meeting deadlines shows how seriously you take your commitment and how dedicated you are toward the team and the workplace.

Start small by making sure you’re always on time or even ahead with your projects as well as being prepared for every meeting or interaction. 

8. Open to feedback 

There is always room for improvement and being able to take feedback positively is a great strength to have. Being self-aware and acknowledging your mistakes is the first step in being able to lead with confidence, empathy and openness.
